About Me

I am:

  • a highly successful fundraiser who has raised over £5m;

  • friendly, personable and easy to work with;

  • focused, thorough, and fast-working;

  • able to take your ideas and passion and translate them into strong, convincing funding bids;

  • able to support the development of systems, processes, strategies, and other organisational aspects.

I'm not:

  • a magician! The quality of the fundraising is only half of the equation – success happens with effective, robust, and ambitious charities;

  • able to deliver successful fundraising in a vacuum – I will want to have regular communication with you to make sure I'm fully informed and speaking with the organisation's voice.

My background

I’ve worked in the voluntary sector for over 18 years in a mixture of fundraising and leadership roles.

As a fundraiser, I've raised over £5m in grants from funders including the National Lottery, the Esmée Fairbairn Foundation, Henry Smith Charity, Lloyds Bank Foundation, City Bridge Trust, the Leathersellers’ Company, and statutory funds such as the Tampon Tax Fund and the Police Transformation Fund. As well as bid-writing, I also have experience in other areas of fundraising, including corporate fundraising, events, appeals, and developing highly effective fundraising strategies.

I've also led organisations through periods of change, worked closely with boards of trustees, and supported charities to establish and develop robust governance processes.

I'm an experienced facilitator and have worked with staff teams to develop theory of change models, with leadership teams to develop project development processes, and with trustees to develop fundraising strategies. I also have experience of supporting and mentoring others.
